President's Message

Lucille Kannick

President of HHIBAC

Welcome to the Hilton Head Island -Bluffton Alumnae Chapter

of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Website.

The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on February 26, 2012 with 29 members eager to establish a presence in the greater Hilton Head Island-Bluffton area. The chartered members and the members who joined after “Chartering Day” bring to this community a wealth of experiences, backgrounds, and talents. We have had an impact in our service area which encompass the communities of Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, Hardeeville, Pritchardville and Okatie through scholarship, sisterhood, and service.

Since we were chartered, our membership has increased through the process of reclaiming inactive Sorors as well as claiming Sorors who have transitioned to our area. Currently, we have 47 financial Sorors in our Chapter. We have been blessed with Sorors who have achieved the highest level of education, teachers, teachers of the year, board of education chair, presidents of prominent organizations, business owners, advisors, managers, superintendents, principals, assistant principals, social workers, ministers, and the list goes on as we strive to transform lives and impact communities.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is a service organization, and service is what we do. Listed are a few of our services that have impacted our community.

~ Scholarships to area high school students: Hilton Head High, Bluffton High, May River High and Ridgeland-Hardeeville High Schools and Junior Jazz Summer Camp

We continue to seek opportunities to partner with other organizations and community leaders as we continue to strive to transform lives and impact communities as we move to the next level of Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service.
